The command for such love Commanded by God 1 John 4:21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. 2 John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. Commanded by Jesus John 13:34-35 A new commandment 2I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. {35} By this shall all <men> know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. He that loveth not <his> brother abideth in death. {15} Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Builds the church 1 Corinthians 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. Ephesians 4:15-16 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, <even> Christ: {16} From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
