Business Consulting Services Overview
For the past thirty five I have worked for such firms as (General Motors, General Dynamics, FMC Corporation, Kimball Electronics, ZF/Lemforder). I have been a business consultant to firms such as (AT&T, IBM, Quaker Oil, and Boeing Aircraft Company). I have taught at companies and technical colleges, on courses ranging from 360 Degree Feedback Programs, Conflict Management, Team Building, Time Management, Organizational Development, Purchasing Management, Just-In-Time, Strategic Planning, Benchmarking, Inventory & Production Control, Materials Resource Planning, Warehouse & Inventory Management, Master Production Scheduling, Operations Management, Materials Requirements Planning, Supply Chain Management, EDI, and Lean Thinking, Value Stream Analysis and Flow Management. I have held positions of Materials Manager, Director of Materials, Purchasing Manager, MRP Project Manager, Senior Industry Consultant, Systems Analyst and Business Expert.
In 1980 while I was with the FMC Corporation Petroleum Equipment Group in Houston, Texas I was introduced to Japanese manufacturing methods of Just-In-Time, Total Quality Control and elimination of waste. The term that the Japanese have for waste is called Muda. Specifically any human activity which absorbs resources but creates no value: mistakes which require rectification, production of items no one wants and idle inventory. The past twenty years have been exciting years of challenge/change. I have experienced many of these changes first hand from the lean production systems of Toyota, corporate downsizings, re-engineering, new computer systems such as (MRP Systems, ERP Systems, internet). New management concepts such as work teams, 360 degree feedback/performance management systems.

The past twenty years has taught me one thing. All of these concepts, philosophies are all very real and powerful but they can only be successful if people understand and accept the changes being proposed. My Mother had a favorite saying "Son you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink".
In my seminars (Business Listing Seminars) I often invite people to share their toughest problems or ask their hardest questions. Inevitably these deal with conflicts or dilemmas that can't be resolved using conventional approaches.

Some examples
1. How do I balance personal and professional areas of life in the middle of constant crises and pressures?
2. How can I be genuinely happy for the successes and competencies of another?
3. How do we maintain control, yet give people the freedom and autonomy they need to be effective in their work?
4. How do we internalize the principles of Total quality and continuous improvements at all levels and in all people when they are so cynical in the wake of all the past programs of the month?
